Back in December when I first got sober, I started a blog that focused exclusively on inspirational quotes. I needed an outlet for strength, inspiration and motivation so I spent my time designing graphics with different quotes on them. It was a fun project and kept me busy (and most importantly it kept me sober) but in April, I decided to sell the site. I felt that I needed to focus more on self-care. I realized that I was spending way too much time in front of my computer and not enough time enjoying life.
However now, I feel that inspirational quotes that focus on alcoholism, addiction, sobriety and recovery are a perfect fit for this blog. So I thought I would publish one post (maybe more posts later) with a collection of my favorite quotes to stay sober. All of these quotes resonate with me 100% and if you struggle with any type of addiction, they will resonate with you as well.

Never underestimate a recovering addict
The first step of change is to become aware of your own bullshit

The goal isn’t to be sober – the goal is to love yourself so much that you don’t need to drink
Sobriety is never owned. It’s rented. And rent is due everyday.
